The Deputy Director of the NATO Counter Intelligence Centre of Excellence has received a commemorative medal awarded by the Director of Slovak Military Intelligence.

Col Tomasz Sieczka received this distinction in recognition of his contribution to cooperation with Slovak military intelligence and counterintelligence structures carried out within the framework of NATO CI COE activities. It reflects the high level of professionalism and engagement demonstrated in joint projects, interoperability efforts, initiatives enhancing Allied CI capabilities, and capability‑development efforts conducted with Slovak partners. The medal was awarded by Maj Gen Juraj Štefanka, Director of Slovak Military Intelligence.

The Centre is the result of long‑standing cooperation between the Polish Military Counterintelligence Service and Slovak Military Intelligence. Poland and Slovakia serve as Framework Nations and bear primary responsibility for the development and functioning of the Centre, together with the supporting and fully committed Sponsoring Countries.

The awarded decoration is a commemorative medal of Slovak Military Intelligence. Its design features the official emblem of the service: a stylised hand gripping an upward‑pointing sword on a circular shield, symbolising cooperation, readiness and protection. The medal is mounted on a red ribbon, and the MMXIII (2013) clasp marks the year in which Slovakia unified its military intelligence and counterintelligence services into the present‑day as the “Vojenské spravodajstvo”.
