The NATO Counter Intelligence Centre of Excellence was visited by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Poland and Slovakia.
The Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Ivan Korčok came to the NATO CI COE together with their delegations. Ministers visited the Centre on the occasion of a meeting of foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group countries in Wadowice.
After the warm welcome, the guests were briefed by the NATO CI COE Director Colonel Martin Achimovič ongoing projects and challenges for the current and next years. Ministers have shown a great interest in the NATO CI COE mission, so a broader and more detailed debate followed the director’s speech. During the discussion, both ministers emphasized that the Centre, created with Poland and Slovakia’s initiatives, is a great example of allied cooperation.
After the visit Minister Korčok emphasized that in today’s changing and increasingly unpredictable security environment, hybrid threats are a phenomenon that we can only face together and in a coordinated way – not only as representatives of states but also of the civilian and military sectors. “Joint Slovak-Polish leadership offers unique opportunities for cooperation that are possible in the field of defense,” he noted.
