THE FIRST TRAINING IN LEŠŤ

For the first time, the Centre run the NATO Counter Intelligence Course outside its main headquarter – in Slovak Training Centre Lešť.

The preparation and conducting of the course more than 400 kilometers away from the NATO CI COE main headquarter was a considerable organizational challenge. However, thanks to the excellent commitment of the personnel from the Training Centre Lešť and the Slovak Military Intelligence Service (VS – Vojenské Spravodajstvo) we executed the training at the highest possible level. The course participants from ten NATO countries for almost two weeks have been trained and challenged by CI instructors. Time spent there was intense, sometimes difficult but eventually fruitful for students.

The main aim of NATO Counter Intelligence Course is to provide comprehensive knowledge on how CI activities are to be conducted in a NATO-led operation. The two weeks long course has a balanced proportion of theory and practice. In each iteration, the audience of the course included students from the CI COE framework and sponsoring nations as well as other NATO nations and organizations. The students benefited also from the experience of guest speakers from NATO CI bodies.
