STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING IN SLOVENIA

The 12th meeting of the NATO Counter Intelligence Centre of Excellence Steering Committee (SC) was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The two-day meeting was attended by delegations from all eleven member nations: Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the United States, and France, which has observer status. SC members met in Ljubljana following the invitation of the Intelligence and Security Service (ISS) of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia.

Initially, all meeting participants were warmly welcomed by Mr. Andrej Fefer, the ISS Director General, who wished them productive proceedings. Then, in recognition of the individual contribution and activities that significantly contributed to the development of the Centre, its director, COL Mariusz Nogaj, awarded Mr. Fefer with the NATO CI COE Medal of Merit.

After this brief ceremony, the main part of the meeting began. During it, the NATO CI COE staff presented a detailed update on its key activities, the implementation of the Programme of Work, and upcoming challenges. The meeting participants also discussed the development directions, budget, manning status, and other relevant issues.

At the end of the meeting, the date of the next one was set, which will take place in autumn 2023.
