Mr. Tomasz Zdzikot, the Deputy Minister – the Secretary of State in the Polish Ministry of Defense, paid a visit to the NATO Counter-Intelligence Centre of Excellence. The minister was accompanied by Mr. Maciej Materka, the head of the Polish Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW).
Minister Tomasz Zdzikot was introduced to the Centre’s concept, history, and tasks during the visit. The NATO CI COE director colonel Robert Bala widely presented a comprehensive briefing on ongoing projects in education, new doctrines proceeding, and lessons learned collecting. He paid particular attention to the process of adjusting the Centre’s working spectrum and offer for the CI community to continually change the environment, including the virtual world and acting in the cyber domain, in which CI services must operate now.
The meeting ended with a discussion. The overarching goal of it was identifying new challenges facing the Centre, development of own projects, and cooperation between the Centre and other national and international organizations aimed at increasing the CI capabilities of the Alliance. The minister expressed his high recognition for the wide range of tasks performed by the Centre and efforts towards its further dynamic development.
