Director General of Directorate for Defense Policy Mr. Ivica Ivanović was the head of the Montenegrin delegation, which paid a visit to the NATO Counter Intelligence Centre of Excellence.
Previously, in Warsaw, the delegation participated in bilateral talks about strengthening Montenegro and Poland’s partnership. Mr. Ivica Ivanović and undersecretary of state in the Polish Ministry of Defense Tomasz Szatkowski emphasized the excellent relations between the two countries. They discussed topics related to military cooperation as well as regional security. After the meeting, guests from Montenegro went to Kraków, where they visited the NATO CI COE.
Mr. Ivica Ivanović and the Montenegrin delegation were briefed by the NATO CI COE Deputy Director Colonel Martin Achimovič and representatives of all Centre’s branches about educational products, current projects, and plans for the future. It was also recalled that representatives of the youngest NATO member have already participated in the NATO CI COE courses. At the guests’ request, col. Achimovič also presented details of the COE’s principles as an international military organization and rules of joining into the sponsoring nations’ group.
After the meeting in the CI COE, the Montenegrin delegation visited the Nazi German concentration camp in Oświęcim.
